Krav Maga /krɑːv məˈɡɑː/ (Hebrew: קרב מגע [ˈkʁav maˈɡa], lit. "contact combat").
Krav Maga is not a martial art. It is not a sport. It is a system of self defense that involves striking techniques, wrestling and grappling. It was developed in Israel and is known for its focus on real-world situations and extremely efficient counter attacks. Our program is for individual who are at least 16 years of age. This class focuses on self-defense, multiple attackers, edged weapons, long gun and hand gun defense and ground defenses. It is designed for the average student and allows you to progress from beginner level to the more advanced all at your own pace.
Unlike the majority of Krav Maga instructors across the country who seem to adhere to "see one, do one, teach one" Grand Master Smith is the 'go to guy' and a subject matter expert in the field of anti-terrorism, defensive tactices, CQB and weapons based training for the United States Navy's Department of Defense and non-compliant vessel boarding, search and seizure teams that deal with maritime piracy across the globe.
Grand Master Smith brings with him a unique set of skills and he is always eager to share these with his students and the community. Periodically he offers TACTICAL SOLUTIONS classes so please visit our website often so you can sign up for the next class.
The phrase stranger danger is intened to sum up the danger associated with adults whom children do not know. The phrase has found widespread usage. In addition to teaching the taekwondo students how to recognize and handle dangerous situations and strangers, Smith Taekwondo Center periodically offers community seminars. In addition, the children get to actually practice fighting off an attacker. No other taekwondo school offers this kind of experience.
