On Rappel
Adventures in Rappelling
On Rappel offers a wide
selection of courses from a single hour basic rappelling course to day
camps and corporate seminars that focus on team leadership, team building
and group dynamics.
Rappelling training gives people a sense of confidence, knowing they can
overcome fear while tackling a difficult physical obstacle.
Rappelling gives you confidence to overcome obstacles not only while
rappelling but in life, as well. Additionally, those who take the
class together develop a certain bond as they face and overcome the
challenges of their first rappel.
Chief Rappel Instructor, Master Smith, teaches Australian style, Ranger
style and Assault style rappelling.

The Australian style of rappelling is to go down face first where the
Ranger style of rappelling is backwards and the Assault style is upside
down. "The Australian style and Assault style are a little more
complicated and a lot tougher to teach, so with beginning rappel we stick
to the standard (Ranger style) rappel technique", says Master Smith.
